MLK Break

I hope everyone is having a wonderful long weekend!  I have had a spa day, so I am a new woman!!:)

I want to update you on Reading and Language Arts/Writing plans.  Students were given their Spelling words on Monday and they are posted on the Language Arts page of this blog.  Students will get vocabulary words when they have vocabulary center.  As this is a review week, I think students will be able to use some support for the vocabulary test.  Most likely their foldable, but not totally sure yet:)

The test will be on Thursday, for both Reading and Spelling.  Just an FYI, Reading tests are always open book.  Students are able to refer back to the story throughout the test.  The only part they need to study is vocabulary.  I would suggest, however that you ask your child to bring their book home so that they can reread the story with you.  It is important that each student practice their fluency.

Remember the Theme 2 project and the book report; due dates are posted on the upcoming dates section of the blog.  Finally your child needs to take at least one test on a grade level appropriate book on book adventure by the end of January.  All students can register for this site, the link is in the links section.

Please contact me if you have any questions!

New Week

Good Afternnoon!
The students received their new spelling words today.  I will post them in the morning.  We will not test this week, due to FAIR testing.  Next week is a weird one, because students have no school on Monday or Friday of that week.  Due to all of this, we will take both our spelling and reading test on Thursday of next week.

Students will receive information on their upcoming book report, there will be a template sent home.  Your child should NOT write on the template.  This template should be used as a guide only.  This report will be due on January 28.  There will also be an end of THeme 2 project which will be due on January 24.  Students will get information for all of this tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I will send home more info tomorrow.

New Year!

Happy New Year!!
We return from our very long break tomorrow.  We will begin our Partner teaching, which will be very exciting.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me!

I spent the break moving from Satellite Beach.  I am anxious to get back into the routine!  I will enjoy not having to drive back and forth every week.  Maybe the students will notice that I am not as exhausted:)

I hope everyone had a great break and spent quality time with family and friends.  I will post this week regarding upcoming assignments!
