Welcome to a new week! This week we will do several writing prompts to further prepare for FCAT Writes. This test is coming on us quickly, so we will be focusing on it a great deal in the next few weeks. Students will have official prompts on both Wednesday and Thursday, so please try to make sure your child is present on both days.
Spelling Words: railroad, make-believe, airport, afternoon, seatbelt, meanwhile, everything, everywhere, whenever, breakfast, forever, all right, alright, ourselves, fireplace, homesick, understand, background, anything, ninety-nine. Students will have homework assignments daily for the week. It is fine if they wait to turn them in on Friday.
Monday - 3 times each in best handwriting
Tuesday - Write 10 sentences using at least 10 spelling words
Wednesday - Write a story using 15 spelling words
Thursday - Study for test
Reading vocabulary words are: autumn, draft, etched, frost, mercury, thermometers, timid.
Our reading test will be next Thursday on vocabulary and the story "The Stranger".
Students will have a book report due on February 28, 2011. This book report should follow the same format as the January report and can be on any chapter book they choose. They should also take a test on a book by that data also.
